Everyone here seems to adore the Mazda, so I thought I'd start a discussion since the Fiat appears to receive much less adulation...
Well, wbradley, iffen your car didn't have a torque dip, you wouldn't be behind it -

I see nothing wrong with the look for a small, light, agile, tight roadster.

I like them. To each their own.

Only problem with them for me is that there is not enough interior space. My car is lighter and smaller but it has more people room inside.

The Spider totally rocks in person. Makes the Miata look like a sissy. If I was in the market for a two seater I would grab a Spider in a heart beat.

People have compared the car to a coy fish or say they don’t like it for whatever reasons. That is why we have so many makes and models to account for subjective opinions. While we are throwing out opinions, I think they nailed the design. The 86 is the right size for me, but if it didn’t exist then I would own a RF, but I would prefer a solid hardtop for strength and lightness. I would consider the RF as a daily if my 86 graduates to a track only car.

IMO the 86 rear is hideous, it looks bloated. The ND looks neat and tidy, like a metal skin pulled taut against the bones. I loved it the minute I saw it, great curves, great lines, an overall sense of agility.

As for the 124, boring from all angles. It looks like, well, an FCA product. Could have called it the Chrysler 100 and surprised nobody. At least it comes in a nice bright blue, though, the ND has had two different muted shades of blue that don't appeal to me. Makes up for it with Soul Red I guess.

What's worse.... the taillights or the dash? Lol.

Mazda needs some definite help with interior design.

How is a fish coy? Like does it smile coquetishly at passing sailors? Does it nibble at the lure enough to think you've snagged it but then you reel in nothing!!!

I actually didnt know a fish had that range of emotions. I wish I was good with paint because the back of that car screams for a vinyl decal of something.... I see this bored guy's face easily enough.

in what way? Mazda interiors have been awesome for quite some time now, definitely punches far above what most compact to mid size class vehicles have to offer

The dash is disgusting. A lot of manufacturers are moving to that dumb tablet on the dash design but mazda seems to be the worst of them. They also carried it across all their models, effectively making a new one of any model not worth buying.

The interior of our 2016 cx5 blows the new one out of the water with how much better it looks.

It's OK. Below average. A bit of a butterbutt, but not a deal breaker.

They're purging all touchscreens. Besides that, everything else is pretty top notch.
