I actually liked wearing my ring. It got painful. Wife knows who I'm coming home to. She understands. I still want to try one of those rubber band ones. They have them that look like metal. I think I'm going to Amazon now.

We used to put rubber bands on lambs tails, so that they would eventually fall off.

That's how my parents got rid of my tail.

And my foreskin.

Used for bulls to turn them into steers as well. Is that what your parents did?

I tried, they keep sending it back. Doesn't meet Canadian safety standards, or something?

I made a prime rib last weekend. Had Mom over. We had a really nice dinner. I wrote a $9k check to my Mom for my Dad's truck about 3 months ago. Asked her why she still hasn't cashed it. See said she tore it up. I asked her why she did that. She said she took a picture of it to prove to my brothers that I "gave her a check for it". Me and my brothers get along fine, and have told her many times that whatever she decides to do with her stuff is ok with us, but she is so worried that will change.

My Mom said she has learned in the 16 months since my Dad passed that she can live without him, but she doesn't want to. What do you say to that? It has been heavy on my mind.

Say nothing. Accept it. Accept the fact that we won't understand until we get there ourselves. My mom was the same way. It's common and there's nothing wrong with it.

Hug her. Tell her you love her. Tell her that it's ok.
