So I attended the local Speed and Custom show this weekend and learned the following things:
I now understand what it is like to be one of the younger guys at a car event. The average age had to be around 65. Rat rods and "as found" restorations seem to be all the rage right now. About 20 years ago I was way ahead of my time with my roller painted primer 58 Ford. There are something around 100,000 companies offering classic and special car insurance. They were all there as venders. I am no longer convinced that I can afford to purchase a classic car as a hobby. Pretty sure that every 68 Camaro made was in attendance. The entry cost must have been too high since there was not a single ricer on display (this is a first). WORST "MISS PIN UP" BEAUTY CONTEST EVER!

Must have been a heck of a parking lot to hold 235,000 cars. Oh, and were 9,000 of the ones there one of the 7,200 Z28s made? Wait, if you discount all the ones wrapped around poles in NC, you probably are down to 10 or so, so yea, seems legit. Ugm...yea...I think you nailed that one.

Seems there are more Z28 and GT500s now than were ever built.

I say that about the 66 to 69 Chevelle SS! Probably the most cloned car ever.
