Update from my last post 2 years ago @ 97k - now just past 166k on my 2014. Took delivery almost exactly 5 years ago, so that's about 33k per year.

Lower body ones have not rusted even after 4 salty winters. Ones along top of windshield are a nightmare scene. Obviously not the same level of rust resistant panels used in both locations. There is some surface rust on any untreated bolts and fittings but no worse than any other car I have ever owned. First new car in my last 5 where I have not had to replace the windshield yet even though it has taken high velocity hits from rocks the size of the Deathstar. All in all it is in no better or worse shape than any other new car I have driven for the same number of kilometers.

I needed a new battery not long after buying the car, but I think that's because the car was 2 years old on paper with only 1000km on it, so probably sat for long periods of its early life. I just did brakes about 10k ago (upgraded to StopTech), still on my original clutch, which doesn't feel like it needs changing anytime soon (yet). One of my fog light bulbs went out, I have a squealing accessory belt upon cold-start, and I am experiencing P0351 on and off currently (bad ignition coil), but the car does not act any differently so I haven't rushed to fix that one yet. I'm starting to get some noise from my front wheel bearings so those will have to be done soon as well. Also getting some light "clicking" from the front suspension at low speed over bumps; I'm guessing bushings, but will further diagnose once the weather warms up. Otherwise, besides my driver's sun-visor breaking and the light on my driver's-side heated seat switch no longer working, I haven't had much to complain about! Also have some light wear and tear starting to show in certain places (steering wheel), and lots of stone chips and a couple of small dings here and there, but that is to be expected with any car. My headlights are also starting to get cloudy on the top part, so I will have to see if I can get a headlight restoration done this summer.

Car currently sitting at 140k. I bought it at 90k and had just had a clutch replaced, guy before me must have drove it like shit.

Currently at 162k. Only issues are squeaky windows and a blown motor due to a failed J02 recall.
I had my Spark plugs, throughout bearing and clutch replace at 162k. The bearing was getting real noisy and was causing the clutch to feel heavy. |

Brought home on November 2013. Has 209,000km.
Trackdays: about 5-8 times a summer, autox 2-3 times, all-season car. Finished with my second set of summer tires, plenty of life on my second winters. - oem - yokohama ig52c - Michelin PSS 245/40/17 - Gislaved Nordfrost 5 I'm a year into my 3rd set of front pads, a month into my 3rd set of rears. - Amazing how long these stoptech street performance can go with such abuse. Second throwout bearing (installed at 130K, along with clutch) quietly hisses sometimes. I'll change it at ~220 preemptively. ***Coolant change at 130K with Subaru OEM (protect your gaskets people). I should have done it earlier but was nervous. New maintenance tasks are always frightening the first time. This car lives up to its Subaru name, (you toyota owners should be thankful ). My Habits: Never drive off without giving the engine 30 seconds to oil up (2 minutes in the winter). Drive like grandma unless the oil is at temp (a few minutes later than when the coolant is at temp). Drive it hard, don't worry, it'll be fine. Don't change your valve springs unless you engine is already broken. Oil on time. |

Mine is at an uneventful 97k. The big 100k service is approaching quickly. I will do my spark plugs etc..
New oil/filters has been done every 10k. I replaced the tranny fluid twice. I am on my second set of summer tires. I am due for new winters coming season. I have had some cold start issues last winter during the -30C cold snap so I replaced the battery with a Red Top. The right front developed a clunk. The hub assembly (or bearing) had some play and needed to be replaced. I installed new front rotors/pads and stainless lines (StopTech) and changed the fluid. I was on my second set of pads, they were not done yet, the original rotors also had some life left. The car has a couple of upgrades, most notably a UEL header and an OpenFlash Stage 2+ tune.

Im 100% Positive I have the highest clicks
So I have a 2014 brz Limited edition.
I purchased it almost 5 years ago with 21 000 km I am at 202 500km. Yes, this car is absolutely addictive. Bang for your buck. I joy ride it everywhere. Subaru6ix on Instagram. I've only had to change the brakes once, go through oil changes and tire changes. It has never died on me or had any issues. No lie. Subaru really knew what they were doing with this vehicle |
