Yep, in the Corvette.

Back in 1953, the corvette had a 2 speed auto transmission, with a puny 6 cylinder engine. Today the corvette can have a 7 speed manual transmission, with a monster engine with upteen HP and torque.

PS - if GM would have put a 7 speed manual transmission from a GMC truck, in their 1953 corvette, would have it sold better ….??

Do you have salt water pipes in your house?

What year was your house built?

Why do the pipes need replacing?

Lead in the water would explain a lot -

Maybe.

Because the handle for the main shutoff is laying on top of the water heater and a couple of the oldest downstream fittings have seen better days.

So would chronic exposure to experimental pesticides.

Stinky.
No wonder I haven't seen you on the bridge.

My house was built in 59. I've replaced all the main sewer line from the porch to the street, and replumbed the entire fresh side with copper, including the main. Super fun.

once the kitchen line rotted out and was just dumping under the house. I'm laying under the house, in a puddle of gunk, with a sawzall removing pipe that is solid gunk. A foot of it weighed 10 lbs. Good times. Oh yea, the kitchen is the farthest from the crawl space access hole. Murphy's law.

PEX and PVC would be much better alternatives if you've got mystery water

for when drinking the water might either give you cancer, or or will give you super powers!

i just made it up now. mostly because i'm on city water, and all that well stuff is rough in comparison.

though i'll likely use it more with my brother, as he's on a well with hard water, and was just retired from active duty after commanding The Great Softener Install of 2018. he said he won the war, but lost many battles along the way. his dog won't ever be the same.

his next battle is a flatulent expansion tank, but that's a story for another time.

He's adjusting the donut programs for the food replicators. Apparently, someone has been tampering with them.
