Weight reduction threads remind me of UL backpacking threads. Anything to shave a few pounds. (grams) I admire the dedication. My base pack weight was down to 15lbs. I became obsessed with getting lighter weight gear. After awhile, I had so much backpacking gear, I literally started an ebay store to sell all the extra stuff. I had 9 sleeping bags. with a weight of 1lbs to 3.5lbs.

Looking forward to more outdoor adventures this year!

Happy Thursday Ya'll!

I went outdoors once. Didn't care for it much.

I grew up backpacking with my Dad and brothers. We would pack in up to 32 miles, then spend the week. I hated the packing, but loved the fishing and camping once we got there. My little brother keeps trying to get me back into it with his kids. I tell him the only way I'll ever backpack again is with pack mules and horses.

I do have some great memories. When you are in about 20 miles on trails, then another 10 miles cross country, you see land that not many people see. And I've caught many of the very rare high altitude California Golden Trout.

Haven't gone. It feels very muscular. It is better today, but still there. Thanks.

Sounds like and amazing hike! It's awesome that your family did things like that together. I only went camping with my family a few times when I was a kid.

The gear and clothing that are available now make it way easier to keep your pack light and your feet happy. I remember when my backpack was 45+ lbs! It makes my back hurt just thinking about it... My backpack never weighs over 30lbs now.

This is a pic out my office window now... I have been hiking to the top at lunch.
