Sweet! With all the early adopters...the glut of used first gen Twin's will allow me to have a virtual garage full of them!

Nothing official yet! Some quotes that a next gen is coming, but not even a single spy photo or any concept exhibition car. The same sources are saying that it'll probably have the new 2.4lt turbo boxer engine which is just science fiction.

I've got it on good authority that it's going to be a hydrogen engine.

Nope you are wrong. I talked to a white haired guy in a lab coat that says he drove the 2021 model in 1985 and to prove it he had a picture of the engine.

No No No That tech is so 2015. I heard from a reliable source that the same aliens that taught us how to mix rubber with chemicals to make it stronger have introduced us to a much better power source using antimatter. We just have to find enough of some sort of crystal to control it before it becomes commercially viable. Once it all comes together it should be a pretty good enterprise although I am sure that some will still kling on to the old ways.

I wouldn't be surprise if they just made the SFR and throw on either the Celica or 86 nameplate.

I don't think we will hear any more of the SFR. It has pretty much disappeared from any media. Even the clickbaits gave up on it.
UNLESS you are correct and they are just laying low to spring it on us. If they do it will most certainly not be the power machine that so many are screaming for.

I've heard it might be called a Corolla, you know, because AE86 throwback was actually called Corolla!

One reason we haven't seen any test cars might be that the 2nd gen uses the same chassis (with updates), and thus they can be disguised as 1st gen cars.

Toyota still has it on display in Japan.
Yup, 128hp. The specs from our sister forum.

On display doesn't bode will for it's future though.

Not necessarily, I view the fact that it's still being shown as a positive thing. Also Toyota did follow up with a second racing concept. It is worth noting that cars that have received multiple concepts have gone into production.

LF-A 2005 & 2008 and LF-A Roadster concept
LF-LC red and blue
FT-86, FT-86 II and FR-S concept
FT-1 red and graphite

Yep. Most have multiple concepts but not 4 years apart with zero other news in between.

The crystals are not hard to find if you know where to look
