i think pp just complain to have things to complain about, typical *popular* american culture (not what america is about just to be clear). and to be honest it seems like society digs it. i've seen pp that are happy with the car on this forum post less and less. but the people that have something oh so terrible about the car, all day everyday.

This is premium monday morning amusement for me.
Some folks in here are so jaded about the small things they don't agree with in their 30k car and they seem to have completely forgotten that 30k also got them an extremely light, balanced, RWD, sports-car with a GOOD 6-speed gear-box and a Torsen differential. Then again - I think these are the same people that will never put these features to any real use.

It's not the people who own them who complain about the car that bug me; it's the people who've never driven one who complain about them that bug me.

There's also the occasional rattle.Thing is, every car will have rattles and odd noises new, that's what the squeak and rattle kit/TSB was around for in the 80s and that's why we have it at our dealership now. Every car cannot be made perfectly similar, it just won't happen no matter how much money you, the manufacturer, or NVH engineers spend on development or the car itself. |

Do I think that people should tone down their expectations to something realistic? Yes. Do I think that if anyone has an issue they should quietly take their cars to the dealership to have it fixed under warranty? Yes. That's what warranties are there for. Do I think that people should foolishly say, "this is a cheap $25k car live with all the little rattles and defects? ABSOLUTELY NOT! You paid good money, expect nothing less than to receive a good product. Do you expect a burger that costs $3 to be less fresh than one that cost $5? It's thinking yours that dumbs down consumers into thinking that just because a product is less costly than another it should be of less quality. Honestly, I get what you're attempting to say, but don't dumb yourself down to where you make a purchase of an automobile, or anything for that matter, into a simple black and white act where you convince yourself that you deserve something inferior just because it doesn't command a higher price tag.

Scion just could not figure out its pricing, they will charge more for the 2014 model and it will have the same interior as the BRZ limited but without the navigation. It will get a better stereo and hids headlights too. Just keep complaining folks. Just think about it the BRZ limited is only $3k more and it has a real navigation system included, plus a rear wing plus a bunch lf other cool stuff. For $1500 more than the current FR-S, scion could have included everything that is in the BRZ limited but exclude the rear wing and the navigation system. But wait, that's probably the 2014 model.... But then people will still complain, but that is good. This is the free world, you have a right to complain. |

1.) Read internets 2.) complain about some product 3.) Purchase said product 4.) Complain to the internets about said product 5.) keep using said product and keep complaining about said product to the internets 6.) Suggest ways to 'improve' the product which sounds easy on paper but would make beancounters, engineers, professionals laugh at you for suggesting such ridiculous things. |
