Hmm Branford isn't that far from me. I might consider this dealer when I'm ready.

156k miles here. Would anyone think to replace their timing chain since it comes off during the recall or just let it be?
I would discuss with the location doing the service. I know they are typically they say they last forever, but I know there are also many applications(EvoX) that have had chain stretch issues. I would imagine there is a spec for strech that is acceptable vs none on these engines.

On the Subaru engines with belts, the tensioners often fail before the belts, it would not be a bad idea to discuss having those and the guides/wear surfaces replaced.

Depends. Do you want to be the guinea pig for how long these chains last? So far it has been a non issue but as we climb in miles it may appear. I personally wouldn't at this point but I am also the guy that waited too long to change my TOB and destroyed my clutch.

Didn't think about a published spec for it. I'll talk to the service manager and try to get some info.

My dealer is pulling the most annoying stuff right now. I dropped it off last monday and its the next week's tuesday. I called them last thursday and they said they broke something and have to get a new part. Call today, figured out it was a "holder
engine mount im guessing
and they said its still not here. Isnt the dealer supposed to overnight this stuff?

No spec in service manual. All it references is "deformation" with no actual measurements supplied.

It'd be nice of them, but no. They should definitely be covering a rental if they aren't already though.

Dealers can't shit parts, and they cant make the supplier shit parts.
Shortages happen. As long as they are covering your rental, enjoy racking miles on someone else's vehicle.
I damaged a cam sensor on one, 275 are on back order through toyota. Apparently I'm not the only one.
I called a local Subaru dealer, they had 2 on the shelf.
Toyota can only get a part when Subaru has them to give to them, know what I mean..

Toyota for 7 years, I worked at and independent shop for about 5 years.
My bossman at the time passed away and it was just me and him, so I decided a shop with air conditioning was my kind of place
Been here ever since
