Yep, it was really quite easy. We left our three kids with their respective grandparents, caught a flight from Saint Louis to Las Vegas on a Friday night.

We stayed at the Hacienda (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacienda_(resort)), which ain't there no more (the Mandalay Bay was built where it was).

Got up Saturday morning and took a cab to the court house to get a marriage license then went across the street (Las Vegas Blvd) to the Little Church of the West (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Li...ch_of_the_West) and got married by a blind preacher (really).

We purchased a copy of the video, consummated our marriage at the Hacienda, all night long, then flew back to Saint Louis the next day (Sunday).

See how easy that can be -

Yep, it's lasted 33 years now - through our recent "no running hot water crises" and all.

We have heat pumps plus bathroom heaters and, in one place, a wall heater. We used to have propane. Propane, at least in our area, ended up being much more expensive than the heat pump. We rarely see freezing temps outside, and we just leave the house at 62 degrees 24/7. It did, however, take a hell of a long time for the temp to get up when we left for a couple weeks with the heat off. Propane would have been faster but not cheaper.

Well, it's official, if you want to save fuel, dump the turbo-4 and get yourself a good old GM V8.

Mrs. Ho drove the twin today to work for the first time in months. Practically had to make her. Most of the time it is sitting in the driveway and she still takes the Honda, then she likes to tell our friends that I don't let her drive it. I think she just feels more comfortable in the Civic, but won't admit it.

I took the day off. It is a beautiful sunny day. I think I'll go to Pacifica for some steamed clams for lunch.

Dad just got divorced after 27 years. Lost the house, had to sell the business and split the cash and still has to pay alimony even though he doesn't have a job and he's 62 years old. I think the only person more pissed about that is my GF because she really wants to get married and I don't want to be a homeless old man with no job and am alimony bill.

Pretty common now. The F150 I drove when my 86 was in for the recall had a 10 speed auto. Another thing helping to kill the AT, who's going to want to drive a 10 speed manual....will unless you are in a movie.

Our CFO at my work is 75 years old. He has to work because he got divorced at 70 and wife got most of his pension from his last job. That would suck.

How many gears does it go thru to get to 35 mph? Must have a giant cooler.

When we got back to Saint Louis on Sunday, we went over to my new brides parents to pick up our daughter. We showed the video to my new father-in-law, as he sat wearing his old jeans, in his easy chair, in his family room, drinking a beer and he commented "best damn wedding I've ever been to".

In regular driving it as in third by 35. It was the upper gears that floated a lot. At back road speeds of 45 - 65MPH it floated a lot between 6th and 10th on its on.
