You seem to be babying your steps because FRS is 25K+ ride. Thing is, you'll learn to appreciate it the more you practice. Good Luck!

I just learned recently as well.. and my neighborhood has notoriously large speed bumps. I usually go about 5-10 before the speed bump pop in neutral break to about 5-3 mph and approach at a angle. Once my front wheel is through i shift to second and give it a little boost if i feel the need.
What i try not to do is shift while on the speed bump.. i heard that's bad? Is that true? |

Put the clutch in as you go over them. Problem solved.

Just slip the clutch in second or drop to first depending on the size of the speed bump.

For most I drive over in first gear at about 3 mph. If they are really big I go over at like 1 mph with the clutch partially engaged.

damn what kind of killer speed bumps are these?
I've encountered a number of speed bumps driving around on the road, but go nowhere near 5mph or less. I'm usually cruising in second gear around 10-15 mph, and the car just easily rolls over. I'm guessing these speed bumps aren't as damaging as yours. but I agree with a previous poster... anything less than 5mph then i'll go back down to first, ever else would be in second. |

If I am in first gear I leave it in first, otherwise I go over them in second gear. I've only gone over speed humps though (they are usually 4-6 feet long), much nicer then speed bumps.
