rear side panel damage on BRZ

I made a stupid mistake and backed into a rock that cause some damage to my rear side panel.

How should i fix it? should i try to do it myself (never done so before) or should i have a shop fix it?

I talked to a body shop and they said they could just pull it out for $100 without anything else. To fix it well he wants to take out the entire panel and bondo the needed area and repaint everything because the panel near the damage actually bent the panel(reflection shows it better). It would cost a week and $700.

That is too bad -

Yep, that was really stupid- backing into things is really stupid. If you're going to back into things, pick large things and hit them hard, straight on.

(humfrz school of driving)

Well, since you went and done it, you have a few options:

* do nothing approach - just leave it alone to remind you of your stupidity.

* Bubba approach - straighten it out with a pair of channel locks or vice grips, prep and paint with a rattle can.

* Consult with a PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) person to see if they could make it all better, prep and touch up paint

* Go with a body shop and get it fixed proper.

Happy Turkey Day!

$700 is a very good price to fix that. I would just leave it to the pros.

Agree, especially since you haven't done any body work before.
