Wrong winter steelies for 2017 86

Hi guys,

I'm in Canada and bought some winter tires/wheels from 4tires.ca and since in the search they didn't have Toyota 86 I figured I'd go with the wheels for the for the 2017 BRZ (lol they're almost the same car....), made sure the bolt pattern and everything was the same 5X100 6.5 X 16. I even checked some other specs in case there was a difference that isn't being shown, searched around a bit and it seemed to be okay but apparently not? I went to put them on today and the bolts didn't align, they were slightly off.

Is the bolt pattern/alignment different for every manufacturer and I'm an idiot for not knowing that? Looking around the internet I couldn't find any other number or spec that would tell me they wouldn't align. If you happen to know, what exactly is different about the bolt alignment? Is there nothing that can be done?

Sorry for the apparently super noob question.

The bolt pattern is the same, you should not have any issues. Perhaps they sent you the wrong bolt pattern wheel.
You can check the back of the wheel to see if it has any information about the wheel specs.

You can also check the hub bore size on the wheel and make sure it is larger than 56.1mm. Lastly see if the wheel touches the caliper at all.

Thanks for the response,

Yeah I figured they would be the same but it looks like the bolt holes are spaced slightly wider outward than my wheel studs, making them not align. I wasn't hitting the caliper as I was able to get one stud somewhat in but the rest were stopping me. The only info on the wheel itself is 6.5j16. Other than that all I know is I purchased it for a Subaru BRZ. I will try measuring the hub bore size and see what that is and maybe give it another shot tomorrow, see if I'm missing something. I'm kind of blown away by this and was really hoping to get my 86 winter ready before the next week...

These were the wheels by the way:

They probably sent 5x116 bolt pattern wheels. Looks like you ordered the right thing (5x100), but you should check the invoice to be sure.

Edit, I can't pattern today. 5x114 is pretty common I think, not 5x116

Could be 5x110/114 or ?? bolt pattern.
I would call customer support and tell them what's going on. You may have to return them.

Thanks guys, perhaps they did send the wrong bolt pattern then. The only thing on my invoice is the part number - X40868 which matches the one on the link I posted.

I will measure my studs/steelies tomorrow and see what the exactly the difference is.

Welp, I measured the bolt pattern and they are 114mm as you guys suspected, another fishy thing was that there was a sticker with someone else's name/address under mine, meaning someone canceled or something and they figured they'd just send me these obviously not thinking about the bolt pattern. Argghh! Oh well hopefully they can resolve it.

I was going nuts thinking there can't be some other hidden spec I'm missing, why won't they fit lol I didn't think they could possibly mess up by sending the wrong wheels.

Thanks for help!

The problem might be that the damn wheels are in French.

And you are in Ontario, not Quebec .....
