For a more comfort oriented coilover, with a focus on quality damping, I'd recommend one of the following:

-Bilstein B16 PSS
-Ohlins R&T
-SACHS Performance coilovers

All of these will be more road oriented, with a balance between comfort and performance, and will re-use OEM top hats. Any of these would seem like a best bet for you.

Missed some of this thread but....

1. Firmer bushings change the ride quality...in some case it's clearly a more harsh ride but it depends. For something like the subframe bushing inserts, I can see how one would like the new ride better, even if it's not "cushier."

2. Firmer bushings will highlight deficiencies in your dampers.

3. Poly bushings work well in some locations, but not all. If there's more than 1 axis of rotation, it's not a great idea to use poly.

Ohlins with custom springs and our RCE SS1 coilovers both ride really well on the street if that's your priority.

Thanks for your replies. Anything custom translates into expensive for me, and especially here in canada where we have to pay quite a bit of tax. I would probably "settle" for either the KW V3 everyone is raving about or the Bilstein B16, with the OEM top hats, as I've been advised so far.

We don't charge extra for our Ohlins with 5k/5k springs. KW V3 are a solid choice as well. Neither are much firmer in spring rate than what you have now but are a solid upgrade in terms of damping. You won't find Bilstein B16 in stock anywhere anytime soon.

Why not go softer since OP is chasing comfort? Ohlins comes with 4kF/3kR, swap the front and rear springs and call it a day, toss on a 4k rear maybe or 3k front.

Ohlins R&T, Showa Evolution SFRV both with variable bump/rebound according to compression speed, with price difference. Of course if you can afford Ohlins it will be better!

An inherent bias against having a stiffer front than rear in ride. I don't know what Ohlins bump stop choice is though so I might be wrong.

strat61caster: As they are designed as system, i'd probably be careful with swapping them without lot of testing. Spring rates may seem wrong/opposite, but maybe it's with specific goal / to work well with their valving. Regarding rates, i recall old post from RCE in past on question about different spring rates vs squeare front-rear that there are many ways to skin a cat

. So i'd first give it a go and test how it handles with stock prior any change.

I have these on my car right now. 4K front and 3K rear. I have mine set at 6F and 6R. They're quite firm at that setting and I like it that way. I did not care for the ride dialed out any further. Others may prefer it.

I've had stock suspension, stock dampers with RCE yellows and now Ohlins R&T 4k-3k. None of these made as much difference as tires IMO.

OP, if you feel like a drive to the west you can drive my car to see what you think. Better that than wasted money...

What about 4K springs all around for Ohlins Andew, do you recommend them for spirited road driving and do they need different front-rear adjustment to cope with the different spring rate from the standard, say 4-5 clicks front 7-8 rear from full soft?
Our roads are very bumpy and uneven here so suspension travel along with softer springs is better option than a 5k front & rear setup I believe.
