Because the hoses only route properly with the plate mounted at a specific angle.


Different fittings maybe but that's a few more $$$ than a cap.

Couple of mill just to clear the oil cap should be ok I guess. The rubber hoses should allow that no problems

I had the same thought as you but we don't really know unless we're digging around in there ourselves.
