JDM BRZ 180km/h limit

guys,

i'm new here. i just bought a 2013 BRZ R Edition in Japan. I read many articles about performance tuning on BRZ in the forum (still reading ) and is very interested to go for the OFT (maybe adding Tomei UEL headers later).

the JDM BRZ has the 180km/h speed limiter inborn. do u guys know if it will be immediately removed once i flash the OTS Stage 1 tune into the car? i saw in 1 article that the speed limit values in those speed limit tables are default at 137mph and 140mph (which equal to 220km/h and 225km/h). that's why i'm curious to know if it helps removing the speed limit as a side bonus for me to buy the OFT.

Jackie

great to know that from u steve99!

any one tried to use OFT on 2013 JDM BRZ? the reason i ask is because i'll be right at Fuji Speedway when i meet my car. so if the OTS tunes inside the OFT V2 hardware doesn't work with the CalID of my car, i'm not sure i'll have good internet connection and time to request for a new tune from Openflash on the spot.

funny, i opened now a JDM rom, you really have a limiter at 185km/h
it s not a real speed limiter, they reduce throttle opening from 100% at 175 km/h to 0% at 185km/h
all other markets have 100% at 221 km/h and 50% at 226 km/h

JDM has also a maximum of 112 km/h for cruise control to work

Last bit seems weirdest one. I wonder, how it's reasoned.

OFT v4 tune will be based on european rom not jdm rom so will have the higher speed limit as per cars outside japan. Oft v2 was based on jdm rom, it was possible to chamge those tables though
