It sounds like I can safely run the HBP on 92+ with the C30 when using an Ace header, but I still want to be sure I'm not placing unnecessary stress on the Rotrex unit.
You don't need E85 or a built engine to run the C38.

I meant the C38 + HBP. I was recommended against it IIRC.

Is this SC reliable for 240HP? Don't want it to be racing fast, just want a little bit more oomph in my DD.

It's reliable well past 240. AFAIK with a carb tune not trying to push power you'll at least make 260s and that's about as conservative as it gets

The Forge FMDVOO8 is EXACTLY the recirculation valve my tuner replaced the Jackson one with, since the Jackson valve is plastic, with a bad seal that stuck open.

I noticed much nicer sound also with the Forge.

Do you mean that whistle sound when the open valve is recirculating? Otherwise, when the valve is closed for full boost, there is no sound from valve; all air is directed to manifold.

I imagine, that's exactly what they're referring to. I have the Forge recirc as well and there is dramatic and very noticeable turbo flutter with it.

Ok, I understand now. Thanks!

Edit: Be careful to make sure that flutter sound is not surge to avoid ruining the compressor.

Sad day... JRSC dieing

5 wonderful years, 23K miles.... but looks like it's over.

1 week ago, started to sound like this, and it is getting worse very quickly:

It sounds like bearing failure, so probably not. I was just surprised because that sort of thing normally happens early on, or if you do something stupid like let the oil get low.

Reliable is a relative term. Anyone buying this kit should keep in mind that these superchargers are not rebuildable and Rotrex is located overseas. When my first Rotrex failed after 3 months I knew it would be covered under warranty and did not want to wait for my warranty claim to be processed. This involves sending the the blower to Europe for inspection. Normally this is a 4-6 week process minimum I believe. Instead I forked over money for a replacement blower but still somehow waited well over 2 months to get a new Rotrex C38. I was eventually refunded under warranty. Hopefully my experience was a rare one. I have since moved on from the Jackson kit. I think Jackson Racing is a great company just wish they would use someone else for their blowers though. Preferably a company based in America that makes units that are rebuildable...

My experience is that the wait for warranty, rebuild, etc with Vortech is the same.
