I think that is a very sound theory.
Anybody that was used to going to the library and spending several hours pouring through different books to find what they needed is not going to be intimidated by looking through several dozen links.
As I discovered in my basement back last year not all those books made it back to the library. Anybody have an idea what the late fees are after 42 years?

I suspect this is age-related as well.

I can't imagine what a 20-year-old would do if you dropped a four-foot pile of manuals in front of them and told them to find the torque spec for a particular bolt.

That's easy, they'd pull out their phone, search for it and point to it with a look of indignation and pity.

They would pull out their phone, search for it, find seven different answers by "experts" on message boards and Facebook groups and select the first one, which is wrong.

Or...
Simply pull out their phone.
Not look at all.
Ask on a forum.
Get the answer in the first post.
Read the following 4 pages of people telling them they should have looked in the manual.

Yep. Pretty sure it is the same cloak he had at Summer Kickoff as well.

As the OP I wanted to jump back in and thank you all for the entertaining and enlightening comments.

Read the following 4 pages of people telling them they should have looked in the manual.

This rings true -- except for the last one, of course. With my years of internet forum experience, I'd expect what follows, so no need to read.

Now, see what you went and did - you asked a question and set the forum racoons to growling at each other.

Now, asking questions is just fine - if you have done a search before and still are confused.

A few topics should NOT be brought up, because they throw the forum into a spin.

An example is "light weight pulleys".

Enjoy your new machine!

Thanks. I've had it about 7 months and really enjoy driving it.

extrashaky was right on. I didn't know where to start. Knowing it's headlight-related, I found it fairly easily in the printed manual that came with the car.

Several mentioned an on-line searchable PDF, but I didn't see a link. Did I miss it or did no one bother?

I'll try to think of some more dumb questions. What was that about lightweight pulleys?

I suggest you quietly do a search - some time when you have a few hours to read thousands of posts -
