The dealership didn't do the install, they sent the vehicle to an Interior Shop. Yes the Rear seats were upgraded as well. Materials are covered by a 36 month warranty. So I Called that Interior Shop and they quoted $1500.00 for the install... Do I have $1500.00, not at this time. Yeah I got up-charged $400.00 but it was rolled into the Financing.

The car I purchased was already in the Dealer's Inventory. I did asked about ordering one with out the leather package and the payments came back $6.00 Less. So Leather for $6.00 a month more. Yes Please....
The other reason I went through with the deal... (If you didnt catch it on my first post). I Purchased the 04 Forester with 30,000 miles for $9200, Dealership took it in for trade with 78,000 miles for $9400.00. Kbb Trade in value on the Forester was $6200.00

So yeah.... I still think I got a good deal... Yes/No? Let me know.

No doubt you got a great deal on your forester, but that's still a far cry from no markups. A 400 markup is still a markup.

Agreed... But that is for the dealer installed accessory.... everyone knows you're gonna get marked up for a dealer installed acessory...

I highly doubt those seats cost that dealer $1500. $500 maybe. And I also doubt that the dealership paid any install fees on them, so the shop probably did shoddy work. I hope the seats work out for you, but my experience with dealer-installed aftermarket seats has always had the seats turn out to be complete garbage. But again, like I said, if you're happy that's all that matters.

Those guys were straight up ****s to me when I stopped in to inquire about the car a month or so ago right before I got my BRZ. They all but laughed me out of the showroom when I started asking questions about the car, mocking how they're "sold out for years" and that I'd "probably never get one." Kinda want to stop back by with the BRZ and rub it in their faces. Hope your experience goes better.

He gets in at 11am, I called. It won't help that you picked the most in demand color/trans combo.

I am happy with the seats and heater install, but thanks for the heads up. I would of ordered a different car, if I didn't think the Interior was up to Standard.

What services and protection plans did they tack on the cost $3500? was this done when finalizing the sales paperwork or in the finance managers office when signing for the vehicle?

Ended up canceling my order at Schaumburg Toyota

Made a phone call and picked up same day from another dealer earlier yesterday, Argento M/T, already put a little over 200 miles on it. Trying to be nice and follow break in procedure, but had some fun testing out the ebrake in tonights rain =)

Nothing, that's kinda the point. Paintless dent removal and windshield chip fixes, basically. It was tacked on in the finance managers office. They had 2 people with cash in hand standing in the dealership they were going to sell the car to if I didn't pick it up, and they were going to sell it to them at 5k over MSRP. Whatever, I don't even care at this point. I paid over MSRP, but I've already got more than my money's worth in enjoyment from the car, with no sign of slowing down.

I paid 3-4k "drift tax" on my two 240's, so I'm used to paying a premium for a desirable vehicle. Meh.

Very nice, welcome to the family! Glad to see at least SOMEONE else is willing to actually drive the car like a car, instead of some sort of newborn child.
