Sounds like the target buyer for the twins.

Wear and tear would probably be faster, but theres probably no real way to calculate it, its just a function of the entire engine system (spinning faster, wearing out the oil faster, more fuel getting burned, engine probably running hotter).

Plus the engine can happily spin to 7400RPM so theres enough durability built in to withstand such abuse.
If only we could change the oil regularly so it wouldn't wear out so fast. Seems like a pretty big oversight on Subaru's part making it so that engine oil can't be changed and once it's all worn out the car is totaled.

If only people didn’t pretend to miss the point.

Op, do you have a 4.8:1 or 5.2:1 final drive, possibly with Jack's Transmissions short 6th gear?

And this something like THIS thread pops up and now people are all "why you revive dead thread?? wtf??"
Did he revive the thread to ask a question? Did he provide some detail missed in all the other pages? Did he attempt to add value in any way whatsoever?

No.

He simply revived a thread in order to attempt to insult somebody. I doubt if they even read past the first post. That is what makes this revival so repulsive. If there had been any reasonable contribution nobody would have said s thing.

I didn’t miss it. He was being sarcastic trying to discredit what the guy was saying about accelerated oil use. Implying that accelerated oil use doesn’t matter because you can simply replace it. Basically pretending to miss the point.

And you can change it so the point is moot.
We are just headed down the same circular argument so this is pointless.

I figuratively agree, sort of.

That's exactly it. If you revive an old thread, people get mad and say, "why did you revive this zombie thread?". If you start a new thread, people get mad and say, "why start a new thread for something that's been discussed?"

There's no perfect answer, but there should be some sort of lock on a thread older than a year IMO. If it hasn't been discussed in 12 months, it should be OK to start a new one.

I tried to explain to my two year old granddaughter, that I was going to limit her use of the baby bottle because of the wear and tear on the nipple. She said "fine pa-pa", now go fill up the baby bottle and give it to me -
