More cracks? Jeez that really sucks. Luckily my header from Cosworth hasn't cracked. But the HKS set up is amazing.
The Tomei are good value. Though everyone always says Ace.

There can only be one best!

Remember, the Ace headers include an overpipe and all hardware, every time, so it's actually not as expensive as people think.

Well I bought a directional mic and stand for my phone. I did the cold start but honestly it sounded like ass. Once warmed up it is fine. So I might just do that haha

I just got my registration renewal notice for December 2018. My car is a 2013 so I figured I wouldn’t need to smog until the sixth year (2019) or after the sixth year (2020), but in my mind I thought maybe my 2013 was a 2012 manufacturer date or something. Luckily that is not the case.

Long story short: I have at least another year before I have to worry about Harrop passing the CARB cert.

Friend and I made a MAF delete plug (motec m150 ecu doesn't use MAF sensor) to free up airflow to the supercharger:

Anyone remove the bypass valve? If so, what does it entail? What was the effect? Smoother power transfers but worse gas mileage? Is it an internal blow off valve or a bypass that only opens at medium to high throttle input?

It actually only opens at low throttle angles. It opens a path from the pressure side of the blower to the intake side of the blower - essentially a bypass that greatly reduces the power required to turn the assembly. It's a fuel economy saving device that allows the engine to revert to traditional "vacuum mode" when not under load.

I guess in the same vein, does anyone know how much weight it actually adds?

I would think anywhere from 60 to 80 lbs? Not sure though since I don't even have a kit installed. I'm just guestimating according to the Edelbrock kit weight.

That's why I'm asking, people with coilovers don't really have this issue, but with lowering springs you may need a 1/4" spacer on the top hat to level it back out. Spacers like this: http://www.subtle-solutions.com/prod...roducts_id=286

60lbs/2.2kg/lb = 27.3kg
For a fairly typical front spring rate for lowering springs of 3.5 kg/mm that's 27.3/(2*3.5kg/mm) = 3.9mm decrease in ride height
For 80lbs that's 5.2mm

It's definitely significant, I wanted to know if the math translated to reality.

What would be the cost to gas mileage by removing it? Would there be consequences in any other way? Would there be improvements?
