MPSS FTW. I used to aquaplane on the orig tires, there were awful even at just 60 MPH. Then I did some aero mods to reduce aero lift and then new Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I haven't aquaplaned once since then.

If the OEM tires are worn you're going to aquaplane.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 FTW...80mph in inches of water, laughs it off. Wet grip handling = dry grip handling, but even better balanced than the Continental Extreme Contact DW's. And lightweight and inexpensive .... Best daily driver tire I've yet had on any vehicle I've owned.

Sexy looking tire as well:

thanks for the responses, aquaplaning just never happened to me with other cars, even with accord coupe, treads of course pushed to the limit.

I remember this feeling with the stock tire, even with good tread. After I switched to the Pilot Super Sports I noticed a big improvement in driving in the rain.

Since your tires are worn, maybe it's time to look at better tires. I think most members would agree that you should walk away from the stock tires and not look back.
