It is also a great way to shrug off some of my bad driver friends who asked to drive the 86 after I purchased it.

"will you teach me?"

Not with this clutch I won't. Even though this car is one of the easiest cars to drive stick that I've owned.

oh come on, they'll scare the crap out of themselves within 10 minutes and decide it is not worth it. You'll get to make fun of them forever.

An AT can't do that? Is there a law or just not physically able? What if people are located in the 80% of the geographic areas with no mountains?

If you can't teach someone to drive a stick in 10 minutes, you're doing something wrong, or maybe on purpose so you can make fun of them.

We need a manual choke mod.
Some things were just better back in the day.

That's if they want to learn. The younger generations stalls once and decides that is too much negativity for the week.

I taught all three of my sons to drive stick as a condition of them getting their license. I suppose they were motivated learners...

True, I only truly feel engaged when using a manual choke, and a crank start, who needs a damn starter after all....

of course this recent movement towards push starts on cars gives me hope we are getting back to basics...

...oh...never mind.
