Sounds like a sweet setup. What I thought was odd was a getting a warning light at 240 degrees. Is the warning light you are referring to one you set yourself or the one in the dash? Safe to say anyone with a stock twin regularly exceeds 240

No, the warning light is built into my oil pressure gauge, it's set to start flashing red when it gets down to whatever you set it at. I can only set it in increments of 5(I think) and it's hard to time it right to get 5psi instead of 10psi, so when it drops below 10psi it flashes. The warning light for oil pressure on the dash is from the oil pressure switch that comes from factory, once that goes off your engine is probably out of oil and ruined.

If you're going for a spirited drive where you're keeping it above 4.5k then yes you will hit above 240. On the interstate doing 85mph for an hour you'll be below 240 but not by much.

Just throwing out my experience, I've got the Jackson Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler. I see a max of 230 F on track at ambient of 80-90 F. I've seen 235 F doing a spirited drive through a tight twisty canyon at low speeds and high RPMS. For reference I was seeing mid 250's at ambient of ~60 F for the one track day I did without the cooler.

I got the Jackson DR/OC because I'm planning on supercharging eventually and it's proven fitment with Edelbrock, but if you're staying NA doing an air-to-oil cooler is cheaper and better cooling. I've continued running 0w-20 at CSG Mike's recommendation, but may bump to 5w-30 when I go FI.

Where is your temp sensor located? The OEM one is in the timing cover on the driver side. Mine is in the top of the block by the AC compressor. May make a bit of a difference depending on the position.

Those temps are read through the OEM sensor. Yeah there should definitely be a difference based on location, the oil isn't going to be the same temperature throughout the engine.
