Thinking maybe an MR-S + 2ZZGE/6M (with a hardtop) Basically 'stock'. Plus more $ into the Supra.

I might buy one used to complement the "failed" 9th Gen Corolla XRS I own. I see failed as = less costly second hand and rare.

I'm actually pretty excited to pay off my car either way. I'm glad that this car gave me the motivation to do it, even if it turns out to be a fail.

Actually, a used BMW 128i doesn't look to bad either. I'd rather have a Japanese car that is more reliable though.

Compared to other swaps, its pretty straight forward (I say that with the utmost respect to "straight forward" in terms of car projects).
But I do remember there being more things to change than I would originally think, just going from 1ZZ to 2ZZ. http://www.mr2.com/forums/mk-3-mr2-s...to-spyder.html That's a pretty thorough explanation of whats needed. |

You could swap a 2ZZ-GE for less. Not MUCH less, but less. Thats just the kit too...I wouldn't be serious about a turbo swap without getting beefier internals for FI. Then comes the piggyback ECU, clutch, yadda yadda yadda. I mean if you got the dough for it, I'd do it too. But a budget weekend Autox / reliable DD? Probably just stick with 2ZZ-GE. Could probably do a 2ZZ MR-S with a total budget of $12k, including car purchase. |

Yup they are amazing, they did my A/T to M/T conversion on my gts in 3 days as well as change my lift bolts. I definitely recommend them for just about anything related to the 2zz cars.

then again, a 1zz turbo would run circles around a 2zz.
that said, first thing's first, i need to finish the MR2 that's in my garage currently, haha.
