and Toyobaru did not barely squeeze out 200hp, they sneezed out 200 hp. Just look at the tuner market, already you've got exhaust systems that add 30 hp without tunes, intakes that add hp without tunes, and that's without anyone even touching cams yet.

they created a stock engine that is perfect for the average joe with tons of space for improvement for the gear heads.

You meant 30hp when the power is dying off after 7k? I remember seeing the same thread with the full exhaust and the peak power throughout the powerband was 12-15 whp max.

second, an extended powerband is HUUUGE thing for a race that's at the track

it's a sub 25k car, 200hp in a 2750 frame is good enough, under 2700 if you dump the spare, tools, and rip your passenger seat out for a track day.

it's seriously a good combo, where's that video of the Mustang on premium tires going up against the FRS on stock tires.. just imagine if the tires were equal.

So far I have yet to see anyone buy one for under $25k, most people are out of the door at $27,500. I think that there would be infinitely less complaining if the car had another 30hp.

my canadian MSRP was 26200 (200 for white colour). I'm not going to count PDI and taxes since that's different depending on territory

i will tell you this though, MSRP for 370z is 41k here in Canada, it's already 10K more than what the final price on my FRS was.

I just looked at the tread again and the whp was from 167 stock to 177 so its really 10 whp. I think with the addition of the headers it was around the 20 chp area.

THAT's exactly why I'm about to own an FR-S. I needed a driftable, good MPG, emergency rear seats, a trunk that's worth a damn, light and nimble car. It's basically an all-around car that will be able to do everything from drifting to getting groceries to hauling furniture all while having people be able to sit in the back (not big people) and get good gas mileage. It was a no brainer. And will be perfect with the turbo kit

To all the people that complain about the 370Z's base price did you guys know that the Z is made up of a lot of aluminum and carbon fiber in some areas? Also its suspension is mainly aluminum and it doesn't come with a McPherson front suspension either. The driveshaft is also CF.

And it still weighs in at 3232lbs while being about the same size as a FRS/BRZ. Its got more luxury so its expected but still... Here is hoping that the next Z comes close to 3000lbs while upping the performance. That is a 38k car I would pay for. Until then I am hoping that a solid reliable 250+hp FRS can be done through factory or aftermarket.
