Seriously though, Scion never should have been created and should have been left to die a long time ago. One car will not change that. Yes, it'll keep them a float a bit longer, but it won't solve everything. Scion is still Scion, they are only delaying the inevitable. At the expense of Toyota fans, such as myself. As for the burnout vid, you still missed the point. This car isn't meant for burnouts and power displays like a muscle car, it's meant to be thrown into turns and handle.

Completely agree. They had huge hopes for the iQ, and we see how that's worked out....

This. I'll be honest, I've never been much of a car guy, hoping to change that with the FR-S, and when I've looked at Toyota's line-up all I see are the camry's and corolla's. I will admit, with a bit of shame, that the phrase "Toyota's racing heritage" puzzled me at first.

People are still going to buy this car, and apparently that pisses you off. |

At what point were you trying to say it was for throwing it into corners? You just said it was not a muscle car. I myself can point out a lot of non-muscle cars that can do burnouts. :p |

I never said people buying the car pisses me off, in fact I've congratulated people who have purchased one on this site. As I've said time and time again, to each their own. My piss off is that "my own" is offered everywhere else in the world but not in N.A. I'm not being given the option, as that's Scion's way of doing things and I don't like that. If they had released the Toyota as the high spec alongside the Scion as the base spec with the Subaru being it's own flavour of both, I'd be fine. Suby fans get what they want, Scion fans get what they want, Toyota fans get what they want. Instead Toyota has hung some of us out to dry. When the president and CEO of Toyota gives his word a Toyota sports car will be built and sold, after seven years of not having one, and then doesn't follow through with that in North America? As a long standing Toyota fan, that gets me right in the soft spot, it also pisses me off. Quote:
I see you are still missing the point as well. Just because it can do a burnout doesn't mean that is the appeal of the car, which was the pretense the poster was trying to dangle in our faces as being the draw to the car.

I get your "point" but it seems that you missed his. He was not dangling burnouts over anyone. He was basically saying that while people wait for their perfect factory setup (never going to happen) that he and everyone else on here with one will be out enjoying what is supposed to be a bare bones sports car anyway. |

Good and wise consumers wait and tbh, a lot of the members who have been here for years during the MKI concept still haven't bought the car yet. ![]() Quote:

Yeah but they would make a even greater overhead by making it mainstream. Too few people are actually willing to pay the JDM bling price. Much would rather have it straight from the manufacturer.

I would assume a Release Series.. in a special color.. perhaps Yellow? with matching stitching on the interior. Also Different tail lights using LEDs.. maybe even an HID kit for the fronts. of course the car will get a spoiler.. perhaps lowered.. maybe a push start/stop button.. I wouldn't expect HP increase and the car is very light as is.. so doubt that will happen either. Of course.. the Convertible has been greenlit for 2014.. so we will see that as well..
