Montreal/quebecers - where's the best place to buy wheels/tires + other questions

Hi everyone,

I'm living in Montreal with my '13 fr-s and wondering if anyone has any luck buying decent tires or wheels at a great price in the Montreal or surrounding area. I also have a couple other questions.

Who has been able to do a tune-up to deal with the torque dip that I hear so much about? Does anyone have an Open Flash tablet that I could borrow or pay to use?

Where's the all around best parts suppliers for people living in this province? I've been looking at buying some lights, wheel spacers, suspension lift kits, and a few other things but many big sites don't seem to ship to Canada. Looking for some good tips!

You couldn't really "borrow" an open flash tablet, because they only work on one car at a time. If you get aftermarket headers + open flash tablet, you will eliminate most of the torque dip and it will pull nicely to redline.

I would think using the OFT would be a one time use, and you'd be able to reset the device so that it is not paired to a specific car. I'd be willing to pay for a one time use but I don't know about spending $500 or so for a device I'll use maybe once.

Thank you for the links!

Edit: just did some more looking into the OFT. Looks like the only way to reuse one is to reset the original car back to normal before you can unpair the device. Ah well, that sucks. $500 with it for +10% HP? Lol

The OFT is for the life of the car not just a one time use, you won't be able to one flash it as it pulls stock ecu data as well. One of the best items for the car don't down play it

When I purchase parts, I think about their resale value too. Chances are you won't keep these parts forever, and OFT are selling for 90-95% of what they are new here, so you'll pretty much get your money back eventually.

Buy an OFT or find a tuner who does ecutek. Lachute Performance comes to mind.

Quattrotires worked well for me, I think they are pretty popular in the BMW crowd. Even being on the west coast it was only $17 to ship me all 4 tires

+ 1 for Quattrotires.com from me. I just ordered a set of Firehawk Indy 500s this Monday and they were delivered to me today in Ottawa around 11AM.

Good service, fast shipping, great price. Only place that had a similar price was 4tires.ca, but I heard their customer service isn't as good.
