Need help identifying this metal sound. It happens every time the car has been parked for some time and I get out of the driveway and turn left. My guess is most of the weight shifts to the right so it makes this sound. Then also when I press the brake the first time it does a metal clanking sound. In this video I do it mostly on the driveway by going back and forth turning the steering wheel. There is no noise whatsoever when I drive on a road or go over bumps. I also took it to the dealer since I have extended warranty but they couldn't find anything (as expected). I recently changed my shocks/springs (the noise was there before) and all the bolts that I removed were re-tightened to the spec.
Here is a video: ![]() ![]()

Good video!
Are you referring to the metallic/crunch/click -ie type of sounds? Welp, back-in-the-day, Idda guessed it was a rock in the hubcap …. now, THAT ought to give you an idea of how much help I'm gonna be .. ![]() Seriously, does it do it when you start off, if you hadn't set the parking/emergency brake? Can you isolate which wheel(s) are making the sound? I suspect the sound is coming from the brake(s).. fer sure.humfrz |

I haven't tried without the hand break, will give that a try but doubt that's it. My guess it's coming from the passenger side where I mounted the camera. I also thought it was coming from the brakes but it puzzles me why it's only happening after I make a left turn and then press the brake. I think when I press the brake the weight shifts and that's what making the noise but I have no clue. I wanted to mount the camera somewhere behind the wheel but couldn't find a spot for it. If nobody can identify this noise I might do it. |

Odd indeed.
My first guess is the top nut on the struts. Endlinks, then sway bar bushings? Might be better to add another 10-15ft/lbs to your torque wrench

I guess I can try to tighten the other stuff with extra 10-15 of torque. Could it be the bearing? But I think that would make the noise every time I steer, like this [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV29cvIFdYk[/ame] |

Wheel bearing? Maybe? Usually that's a fwd problem, or a rear wheel bearing for rwd cars. Maybe your the lucky one in the 10% where it does fail.
A bad wheel bearing is easy to check, just jack up one wheel and check for any noise/wobble while holding at 12 & 6 or 9 & 3 or anywhere in between. I'm putting my money on the struts just because they have been recently replaced. Heck it might even be not suspension related. The last guy I read with a clicking sound ended up being a lose heat shield. Another part I forgot is the ball joints.

For me, it was the brake pads not sliding properly. I took out the pads and the sliders, cleaned the old grease, regreased, and the noise went away
