Did you even read the links you posted?
Not one of the minivans in the links above are faster than the BRZ.

Don't forget, the Camry Hellcat TriTurbo V13 is faster than a BRZ.
Therefore, all econoboxes are faster than a BRZ.

Minivan: Relatively flat torque curve + Automatic transmission + foot to the floor = relatively quick consistent 0-60 time.

BRZ: Torque dip + high RPM power + mostly manual transmissions + sometimes erratic clutch feel + sometimes newbish driver = sometimes inconstant acceleration, esp. if you drop into the torque dip.

I think these two statements explain most of the "BRZ is slower than a minivan" agenda.

So you're making arguments based on hypothetical vehicles now? I assume you're just here to troll, based on your posts thus far, lol.

Be kind to trolls as they know not what they say...... And remember, everything you read on the internet is true..... Everything that requires knowledge, research and understanding is certainly fake news....

You can't make up your own facts.

The fastest minivan on record is the Sienna V6 SE,
which has a 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds.

BRZ has a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds.

BRZ has a faster 0-60 than every minivan on the road.
And it weighs half, so it will smoke any minivan in the turns, as well.

So, let's please dispense with this minivan nonsense already!
Minivans are not fast. Because data !
Car and Driver Honda Odyssey
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...rm-test-review

Zero to 60 mph: 6.7 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 17.9 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 7.0 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 15.3 sec @ 93 mph

BRZ
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...al-test-review
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 6.2 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 16.3 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 7.2 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.8 sec @ 95 mph

I'll grant that the BRZ is faster than a Minivan, but the way car magazines test 'fastest' acceleration is they wind the engine up to 5000rpm and drop the clutch. I can't find the exact quote but this is how the BRZ can get 6.2s 0-60. If you accelerate briskly from a stop like rev 2000 and slip the clutch you won't be getting no 6.2s on a BRZ however with a minivan you might just get very close to the advertised acceleration.

The point about a minivan is to show that a 4500 pound car can get close to the same acceleration as the BRZ. No one said anything about turning or handling that is bringing in a point that no one is trying to make in this tread. No one said the Minivan would keep up on a twisty road, this thread is solely about acceleration.

Here's the point. Take a minivan (ish) setup and put in in a car that weighs 3500 pounds and you get this
Accord V6 https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...an-test-review
Zero to 60 mph: 5.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 14.6 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 6.0 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.4 sec @ 99 mph

Yes this is the point, soccer mom in a fast minivan (like the Odyssey) can floor the gas pedal in a minivan and get 0-60 in 7 seconds all day all night.

Here is what the magazine does to accelerate a low power car like the BRZ

Aided by a 6000-rpm launch and lots of wheelspin, our 2754-pound test car scooted to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and covered the quarter-mile in 14.8 seconds at 95 mph
I can guarantee no one that has a payment on the BRZ is going to 6000-rpm launch with lots of wheelspin acceleration on the street.

I can guarantee anyone who has never had to pay for a prematurely worn clutch would not do that. When I had a new 2015 WRX the C & D test launched at 5000 rpm for a 0-60 time multiple times at the suggestion of Subaru engineers. They said it was fine so then why does Subaru or any other manufacturer refuse an early burned clutch as a wear item? Are they thinking it's ok as long as you can afford to consume clutches?

This is one reason car mags are so influential on people's car purchases, the stats (artificially derived to look better on paper). This is why you should take that stuff for what's it's worth, adverjournalism.

Oh no you can't!!!! 6000 rpm dump is better than slipping the clutch, plus a hard 1 2 bark is always fun, and if you're really ambitious a 2 3 bark can be obtained without too much drama.

Easy google to verify the #s.
that is like the only van truly faster but let's be serious...how many people bought one and can you really call those minivans..?

..the only reason why some V6 minivans can even keep up with a MT twin is solely because we're living in an automated world, end of story...unless these vans have a stick the comparisons mean nothing..not like they meant anything to begin with, the only folks that care are those with ego issues or are compensating for something..

Exactly.
Somewhere in Kentucky some guy strapped a jet turbine engine onto a tricycle....
Therefore all tricycles are faster than BRZ.
