My friends think, I only like JDM... well thats not true. For an example, I like current mustang look. If it wasnt a fatass, I would totally consider buying it. I love Porsche Cayman. Theyre great car.

![]() My friends think I'm an idiot for buying a FRS when I could have gotten a used Corvette, or Camaro, or Mustang, or WRX, or Focus ST, or... Moral of the story, friends are dumb. Dump them and hang out with people on the internet who agree with you on things.

Question: Why do some folks get a twin, over a Camaro/Mustang, that does have a "fat ass"
. then put a body kit on the twin making it look like a "fat ass"
.

People here are fucking bonkers. Like even me as a software engineer can't afford any of these places. I'd have to save up for 5-10 years.. for a condo, and just for a reasonable downpayment lol. Who in their right mind pays 800k-1.2m for a 1br/2br type condo that isn't even in a "luxury" complex/building? Who can even afford that? At least if it was closer to what it's worth, maybe 300-400k I'd be able to afford a downpayment in the next year or two. I'm sad.

Comps in the area are a little tough. I have a townhouse and most of the recently sold town homes either don't have garages like I do or are way above me in cost. but I do remember looking at a couple of places down the street from where I ended up buying. No doubt those sold around the time mine did and they ever very similar. the market here is very busy and things don't stay on the market for very long these days. hell when I bought mine there were 5 offers on it when I went to look at it the day before it officially went on the market. luckily my agent knew the seller's agent so she was able to assure him that the sale would be hassle free, which it was. I was never super excited about it in the first place. I really wanted a 1 bedroom loft near the town square but the one I was after had just gone under contract when I contacted the agent. so instead I ended up with a 3 bed 2.5 bath townhouse with a 2 car garage.

Relevant jobs is the issue. I can take 4+ hours of commute and exchange my property taxes for a mortgage payment... Forget the mortgage payment I also have. Not worth it. I had a decent place and a 3hr+ commute, paid off. I spend half an hour getting to work now and half that is a nice walk. Fifteen minutes or less on transit. That's over 10 hours of life back every week, plus the health benefits (and I notice that too). And Chicago isn't as bad as the Bay area. Very similar to Seattle price wise but the market isn't quite as hot, possibly because transit makes the suburbs an option for people.
