Maybe they spray them with clear first.

The vinyl stuck to the bumper but not anywhere near like it did to paint. Maybe it is good enough but it wasn't worth the risk to me to have to redo it

I guess in this case I'll buy a new fender, primer and clear coat it myself before wrapping.

Custom center mount license plate mounting instructions with parts list. For $32. License plate top is about 1" above bottom bumper.

Do you have more pictures of the end result? A few shots with it on the car would be helpful.

I've been looking to do something similar

Installed Grimmspeed relocation bracket.
Small fitment issue with 17 86's. There is a detachable plastic trim that sits underneath the rod that screws into the tow hook, which required small trimming before I could refit the piece to the bumper.

They drilled holes twice, and used one. Something you would only see once the bracket was removed. The grill appears to be replaceable as it has it's own part number. That is the next thing on the list.

Just replace the grill, they're not that expensive.

I am wondering if there is a reason for relocating the license plate off center other than aesthetic preference?

For me it's the idea that I can remove it and 'restore' the front bumper whenever I want (take the relocator piece off and re-insert the cover piece).

I like having the choice and the idea there isn't any permanent damage being done to the car.

Also, because fake racecar.

I relocated mine to the trunk. It looks great back there.

(It'll be back on soon)

Oh,i didn't know race cars had off-center license plates. I might have an obsessive-compulsive disorder but I will keep it centered. Everything must be centered and all numbers must be even

Nah, I am just too lazy to deal with license plate. I am looking for a spring face-lift for my car and looking for something that will overcome my laziness barrier. Valenti taillights, I guess.

Alternative to drilling holes in the bumper is the main thing for most people I would think.

My plate was also mounted low and blocking the venting to the radiator. I doubt it makes a huge impact, but it would be something for Mythbusters.
