Finally got pulled over for no front plate, so i ziptied mine to the mesh but off to the right side, im not crazy about the looks.
If I trimmed my plate say half an inch around the border would i get pulled over? the numbers would still be showing...or drill some holes thru it for airflow? I just hate the fact that i am blocking 25% of my airflow to the radiator now and imo the grimm speed one just doesnt flow with the car i want mine as low and out of site as possible....

Anyone know if it's legal to spray the front plate with tint spray to make it blend in a little bit better with the dark grille? Obviously the plate number would have to still be somewhat visible.

looks good dude.
i was unlucky and had holes drilled into my bumper. lucky for me Kinzo makes a nice mount that i was able to use with the already drilled holes to cover not only the holes in my bumper but my grill as well. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15277 im happy with it but if i didnt already get that i would prolly try your DIY as i like that look as well. |

I have the rubber coated magnets epoxy'd to the frame...Next step would be taking off the bumper to epoxy the attaching magnets to the inside part of the stash.. Once this is done a little 3M tape to the bolt holes should provide a little extra insurance from slipping away.. Whats good about the design of the plate bracket is that it clips to the bumper on the bottom.. My biggest concern is the force of the magnets through the stache.. I'm thinking at least 10-15 pounds on each magnet should be sufficient to hold the plate/bracket...
