coilover install question - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hey guys,

I am planning on installing ohlins coilovers.

I understand that it is recommended to replace some of the oem bolts in the front and back. I cant seem to find it. Can you guys let me know which ones and part numbers?

Replace them for what reason?

I believe there are some suspension bolts that Subaru specifies to not re-use and to replace with new ones. Something about threads getting elongated and proper torque specs, yadda yadda.

901000371 - strut upper bolt (x2: one for left and one for right)
901000394 - strut lower bolt (x2: one for left and one for right)
902380008 - strut nut (x4: 2 each for left and right)

rear
901000435 - strut bolt (x2: one for left and one for right)
902350032 - strut nut (x2: one for left and one for right)

i think i have the bags for toyota p/n's at home, but honestly i will probably forget to check

should be fine reusing them. they're not small bolts and nuts.

Probably almost nobody, lol.

Toyota did send me new bolts and nuts when I bought TRD springs, though!

That is weird. They are torqued fairly tight so maybe they stretch a bit.

A lot of times they are slightly crimped for safety. I'm sure you're ok, but some OCD people better by new.

The diagram only shows the nuts are non-reusable, not the bolts.

I’ve out 130lbs on those hub nuts several times now, maybe they assume people will use a 12pt head and chew it up over time?
