Better off skinning it yourself of having a carbon shop skin it for you.

Dare I ask what the toggle switches are for?

KD Aerostop makes one, they make a ton of knock offs FYI if you’re not about supporting that industry.

Did you finish off with an epoxy spray clear coat or other UV crystal clear? Or did you just sand and polish the resin to a high gloss?

I think there might be an outside chance they bring these back. I asked them if they could point me somewhere else I might be able to buy, and the response I got was: "Unfortunately I do not. I brought it up with my director and we've seen a demand for these lately. It may be something we bring back, I'm not sure yet."

Sooooooooooo fingers crossed

I've done several skins so far and heard about the spray adhesive method but never done it. This is just to keep the fabric a little more rigid, right? This would help tremendously when trying to cut small pieces of cloth, they always want to just come apart in your hands. No problem with the bonding strength when you lay the adhesive-covered cloth onto the base layer of resin? Or do you skip the base layer altogether and just use the adhesive? Which spray glue do you use?

thanks

Yeah, it keeps the weave perfectly in-line so your part comes out looking perfect, when overlaying and when cutting it into pieces. This helps especially when cutting smaller pieces.

I just use 3m's spray on adhesive for that and to adhere the part. 3m 77 I believe is the only one I use.

Thanks. The worst part of skinning anything is trying to sit around and wait the right amount of time for the base layer to tack up. If you can skip that and just use the spray adhesive for the base layer that will save a ton of time and effort.
