they built a ton of E36's, some stuff is dirt cheap, cheaper than 86's, some stuff will run you more than multiple years of maintenance on an 86

It's not drifting, but they do autocross in Ft. Lauderdale at BB&T Center. The group is called equipe rapide. It'd be a fun way for you to get your car out and blast around!
