While we are here in California, the 911 would bring a good price ....... not so much in Montana. Besides, we could most likely buy the Exige. drive it for a few years, and sell it for almost what we paid for it, before we move to Montana...... and make some new memories along the way.

Then, when we get settled in to our retirement home in Montana, you can buy the vehicle of your choice ...... just for you to drive.

How about it, sweet pea" .......??

Well, the only way I'm parting with my 911 is if I can get another toy. My wife knows that, and she has no say on what I do with the proceeds since I've owned the car outright before I even met her.

Resale isn't a concern, I think air cooled 911s will just keep going up, and I think a low mileage, never tracked, driven by an old man Lotus would sell fine when I'm done with it. Then again, I have never bought a toy with resale in mind.

I also reminded my wife that, when I bought the twin, I was initially going to buy an NSX or a Lotus. I wanted a car that I could have fun in the hills by myself, and also use for weekend drives and get aways with her. The Lotus would be The perfect car for my drives, but way to "raw" for weekends away.
The twin has been the perfect car for both, but having a twin and a Lotus would be a great combo.

Spending a bunch of money in the middle of a 6 figure home remodel I think worries her too. I don't know. I have to sleep on this one. I do really love the Exige. My kids are giving me the most shit about possibly selling the 911 since I have owned the 911 all of their lives. One thing for sure, the twin stays for now.

I've never called my wife "sweet pea", but my baby blues have gotten me out of trouble a few times. However, they seem to be less effective as the years go buy.

More to the point of the trans fluid, it also took me three dealerships before finding one I can sort of trust for warranty work. The place I bought the car from auto-signed me up for 3,000 mile out-of-pocket oil changes despite a 10,000 mile interval. When I asked about it, the guy responded with "Look, buddy" and it went downhill from there. The second one left the dash 3/4 torn apart while replacing the actuator, but the third has been decent so far.
At this rate I'm surprised your rear hatch glass hasn't burst into bits yet.

About that rant from friday, I'm basically doing damage control for another team, and yet this guy from that team is harassing me on work chat this morning asking when it'll be done, when we specifically said a couple times on friday afternoon we'd have to review the change and deploy it for our own test, and then deploy to a server they could test their breaking change with.

Fuggin ridiculous.

Having typed that, if it does happen it is now your fault.

Whenever you spend lots of money improving the house? It's almost always the bathroom or the kitchen (or both) and those rooms are fitment heaven. Unless you hate trying to find just the right parts.

Turns out it's a lot tougher to get good workflow in the space for our kitchen than I anticipated. We'd hoped to upgrade a couple years ago, but only recently have I figured out an alternative layout that I think just might work. Going to cost more though, lots of expensive fitment moving. Oddly, the stove will mostly stay where it is, I think. Except a proper stove with proper ventilation.

Our water supply fitment was the only thing that stayed in the same place when we did our kitchen.

Yeah. I wish. Literally can't have someone at the water supply fitment and the fire fitment at the same time.

Also, half the room is open floor, and the traffic pattern moves directly across it. Terrible use of space unless you only use the microwave for everything.

I'm hoping we'll stay south of 6 figures for a new kitchen... at least a car below... because I had to spend out of the savings for that project...

whee

Our kitchen is about 30 feet long and 8 feet wide before counters are installed. This leaves only a little over 3 feet of floor space once all the storage fitments are in place. Works OK everyplace except we can not access the cold air storage fitment and the utensil cleaning fitment at the same time.
