Given my memory I have no idea but then again I've never had much interest in Mishimoto products. If the dynos were posted by Mishimoto call me a sceptic.

Found it, if it's of interest. Seems both on mishimoto & oem and both with oem filter & highflow one best resonator left+soundtube delete, close to it were both left or just resonator delete, and worst - both deleted. Gains/losses were slight enough to possibly fall within dyno error (and to care much for) though, but as trend was somewhat same for oem tube/mishimoto one and with oem airfilter & aftermarket one, it might be true aswell.

Hey churchx, (off topic because, why not, intakes don't do jack) but nice job Latvia in the Winter Games. Bronze in the sled and Silovs was so close in speed skating!!

Secondly, how does one get a pressure drop due to the sound hose? I mean it is not open ended; it is sealed at one end. I am suggesting that any adverse resonance would be negated by the relatively large volume of the chamber it is attached to.
Thirdly, I would love to see proofs. This is the first I've read of power loss due to the sound/noise tube.
LOL You're welcome! I don't actually have data myself, but, Mishimoto did do some research on the matter. What I can tell you is that I changed mine 2 days ago, and I felt my other mods synergizing. Mishimoto claims the inlet peace will net 5hp. I'm running an e85 tune, UEL coated header, coated overpipe, full Ark DT-S exhaust with optional test pipe. I threw on a K&N drop in because im gonna cut the factory box for now.

Now... To explain the science. Air is not very dense so changes to the size and shape of its container can result in changes in pressure on moving air (pressure waves). The intake resonator also helps to reduce turbulence in the intake so you need it. This will in turn cause changes in pressure in the cylinder robbing you of power because their might be less volume of air in the mixture. These constant changes will also ruin your gas mileage. 2 days and I see a huge improvement in gas mileage even using e85. By the way... The same principle can be applied to the exhaust. That is why people use heat wraps and thermal coating. It keeps the heat trapped in the header so the gases can evacuate more quickly creating negative pressure (pressure waves), and thus removing more exhaust to ensure a more efficient combustion on the next cycle.
