That would be the next step yes. If that doesn't do it then check the starter. Have it tested before you buy a new one though.

So... That didn't last long.

All was fine, but today off work, first press, click, car stayed in ACC+. Push again, start right up...

Think it's that coil?

Have you had the battery draw tested? Have you checked the connection to the starter?

It's not the battery.

Yes, definitely have the battery "load tested". Any auto shop can do that. Doesn't cost much.

Oh, please. You need way better bait than that. As well as it cranks when it's working, there's no way it's the battery. Might be a dead spot on the commutator but, unless it's acting up and OP knows how to troubleshoot, it's a crap shoot.

The list of shit that could be the problem is a lot longer than what is not. It's not the battery.

Well, if I were the OP, I'd still have the battery load tested. If it passes, then move on down the line. If it doesn't, buy a new battery.

It's an intermittent connection. You and OP can waste time and energy, as well as risk dropping and ruining a perfectly good battery. I'll carry a multimeter along in the car while waiting for it to act up again.

OK .......OP, get yourself a multi-meter and a cell phone with Ultramaroon's cell phone number programmed into it and just cruise down through Toronto.

Now, when your car fails to start, ring up ol Ultramaroon and he'll talk you through a trouble shooting procedure.

Just tell those dudes on the street to back off ....... and put your wheels back on your car! .........
