I would choose 86 and supercharge it (and I did). C7 will still be faster on a straight line but 86 is the car I want to drive.

It's faster in the turns too but it's hard to beat the argument that it's what you want to drive.

I would take the 86 and the rest of the money for traveling. Maybe build a nice garage to play with it

Nope. But I read the reviews, I am sure it drives great. I admit it looks good too. I would buy a Corvette if I had the extra money. But if I can have only one, it is 86 for me. Even love the FA20 engine that some others swap with LS. No regrets or second thoughts.

But then is it an engine swapped Twin or a body swapped Corvette?
The question is a supercharged 86 not something that resembles an 86 but is no longer really an 86.

You lost me at "I plan to track it a lot" and then in the next sentence you are talking about making sure a car is daily drivable.
If you are serious you should get an 86 for a daily driver and a beat Miata for a track car. There's your $40K and you still have a way to work on Monday when you toss it in the weeds at the track. |

c7... you'll blow your 86 up. a supercharged brz won't be able to keep up with it in the straights... I had a supercharged brz and caught up to those things in the corners super easy... as soon as a straight comes they destroyed me. atleast a c7 won't blow up.
