That's what 30 grand got you? That's almost criminal...unless you're just a HUGE fan of the styling...then it's all good.

The SE was not a V6 (unless it's the final year 2011 model) and only had, at most, 162 HP with a weight difference from the GT @265HP being 200lbs.

GS 2.4L i4 coupe:
5MT = 3,274 lbs (1,485 kg)
4AT = 3,307 lbs (1,500 kg)

GT 3.8L V6 coupe:
6MT = 3,472 lbs (1,575 kg)
5AT = 3,538 lbs (1,605 kg)

I'm really glad that I had purchased my '06 Eclipse used for only $12000 a few years back. Certainly wouldn't pay $30K for a new one, but that's just MY opinion. It might be a different story if it were RWD and a little lighter.

That said... I loved my Eclipse GT, especially since it was a hatch! However, I'm loving my FR-S more even with the reduced horsepower.

...I do really miss the hatch though.

Never said it was. I was talking about both GS SE, and the GT...

Wasn't meant to offend or suggest anything. Just putting the info out there for folks dropping in on the thread. Just used the quote as context to the weight information.

Some folks on the eclipse boards I used to be on, thought that there was a larger difference in weight between the GS and GT. That's all.

I didn't know the still made the Eclipse! lol.. I understand you couldn't wait.. but I mean the Platform is archaic, the styling is (imo) horrible.. and you paid much too much for it. It's FWD! Should have waited on the Scion/Subaru..

It is true, spending full price on a new one is never a good idea, as I got my 08 GT-SE with 5000 miles for $18,000 and its the 6spd.
For true car enthusiast, I wouldn't hate on these cars, especially the V6. IMO they are highly underrated and many people don't know the potential they have, or have even looked into them and just assume they are "garbage" too heavy, too slow, FWD fail or not a true eclipse cuz of turbo or AWD. In actuality, the new technology with Mitsubishis' TCS allows for the torque and slippage to the FW bearable and the aftermarket support with motor mounts and Ingalls torque damper greatly reduces this to be able to put the whopping 265 tq to the wheels. Don't forget people! horsepower sells cars, torque wins races.

I have swapped the suspension with lowering springs and sway bars, an under tie bar, cold air intake and short throw shifter and this car screams and it is easy to beat 350Z's Genesis coupes, mustangs, 300 series BMW's, new camaro's and the like. The 6G75 has taken kindly to nitrous and the best dyno has been over 400 HP and 500 tq.

and look how sexy you can make them...i turn heads left and right

No hate, Just FYI

I would trade it in for a FR/BR-Z hands down.

That's if your budget is in-tact.

1) The piece I highlighted above--I assume you are talking about the V6?

2) I still look at your car and think "Chick car." Sorry. To each his own.

Homeslice, I still have parts from my GT that I removed before trading it in for my FR-S, if you're interested.

PM me if you are.

Nice looking SE, by the way.

Agreed, best RS series aside from maybe the all black one (RS 5.0)

We're cool :happy0180:

I want to finish out the car with the mitsu aero kit, makes it look a lot sexier and maybe less girly?
