Weird. I'm pretty sure one of my friends is also using the OFT UEL Stage 2 tune as well. I've driven his car a few times and the RPMs would stay at the rev limiter and not cut power.

Also on OFT stage 2 (EL) I think early versions of the canned tunes didn't have the raised redline and soft rev limiter but later ones do (at least as of a few months ago when I downloaded mine). Works out to about 61 mph in 2nd on a pre-facelift MT.

Hmm, maybe it was when I was running an older tune. I'll have to do a 2nd gear pull soon and see if it's still happening. Thanks!

My season codriver this year complained the car was too quiet... He would be sitting on the limiter and not know it. I had it at 7600 on 245's in my ex '14.

I'll start the season on nearly dead 245 stones and barely used bfg's. I like the willingness to put up with my ham fisted driving in the bfg but the stone is faster out here for a precise driver. I'll try 255 again when its time for new tires, though driving a 17 now that may be the sweet spot.

I had the OFT tune on my car and it would sit smoothly on the limiter for half a second or so then closed the throttle part way and kept slowing down... I was at the limiter midway through a slalom and by the end of it I was doing mid 50s even with my foot on the floor the entire time.

So yeah, do some testing to make sure the limiter is set up correctly.

That could be fuel starvation. The limiter cuts rpm immediately when you hit it, but comes back once rpms drop by about 500.

The Rivals and 71R's seem to be pretty equal, I think it comes more down to how each tire matches your driving style than anything.

BUT if you're into ProSolos, BFG is once again running their contingencies so that may be a deciding factor...

Shouldn't be an issue in a slalom with ~1/4 tank of gas, it was consistent too

Pretty much this.

Both tires are good tires. Pretty much comes to your preference on how the tire reacts to an input and how you setup the car around that.

BFG paying out pros and actual tires instead of money was good start for me to try them out last year. While Lincoln it was kind of a dumpster fire, I think they performed really well and I didn’t have the car setup correct for that surface.

YMMV

So basically the 245's work better on 2013-2016 models due to the gearing, right?

I don't know if they are better. I know of plenty of people that ran the 255 on older cars (one being a friend of mine who was 3rd at Nats a couple years ago). The gearing might be part of it, but less so on pre-17 cars.

Got it installed. There is plenty of adjustment in it to get you where you are comfortable. It weighs 11pounds with all the screws. You'll need 4 m8x25mm bolts amd washers for the seat and a 7/16 bolt, washers and nut about an inch long for the seatbelt. It comes with new frame bolts.
