4.56/4.67/4.88 diff builds
Hi I am new here but not new to cars or the fr-s. I have done cheap mods to get the most bang for the $ and now it is time to do the diff build. I am having a hard time parting with $ for the brand name final gears as there's no reason for the price gouge. Which is better? who has done one and what one did you pick and like? I work at Toyota so I am going to cross reference different options but I see online 4.88 for $300-600 but cant find info if the final drive gear is a 7.5" or 8"? will the 4 runner 4.88 work? thanks for any help.

Weir can set you up for a good price. I believe the R&P matches up with one of the early Supra's. |

I dont have the $ for a turbo kit so this is a cheap way of making the na faster as its shortening the gear ratios for more torque to simply put it |

Toyota ring and pinion part numbers compatible with the FRS. Not all can be ordered in North America; I had to order mine from Japan. The only real problem with some of the third party gears is a bit of whine due to not all being helical cut.
3.58:1 - 41201-80125 3.73:1 - 41201-80050 3.91:1 - 41201-80052 4.10:1 - 41201-19605 4.30:1 - 41201-29606 (Included pinion seal will not fit) 4.56:1 - 41201-19557 (Included pinion seal will not fit) 4.88:1 - 41201-80183 (Included pinion seal will likely not fit) <= warning: fitment problems reported 5.13:1 - 41201-80300 (Included pinion seal will likely not fit) Good luck. ...I went 4.56 with a MT, but sometimes I think I should have gone 4.88

Sorry to hear that.. I have the their 5.29 and it's working well. They were generally pretty responsive when I have called/emailed them in the past.

I agree with this ^^. I have their 4.88 and it's built perfectly and quiet. I think it's just Spencer that does everything, so you need to give the guy a break. He's probably busy
