Yet another article stating the tS has a number plate.
Either people weren't paying attention at the press day, or Subaru is making a last minute change. (I'm willing to bet the former, but hoping for the latter.)

Help me understand. To be part of " car culture" I must modify my car ( in what way/ shape /form...to what extent)? Can I be part of car culture if I don't modify my car, but take pride in my car as to maintain it well and feed it high quality fluids ( as well as have fun driving g it of course)? Or is it just a simple matter of appreciating what the car owner has set out to do/ accomplish with their vehicle over the course of their ownership ( to modify, or not to modify)?

Are the sanarios mutually exclusive, so that one results in not being part of " car culture"?

A car that's cheap & can be modify with million parts certainly has it's charms.

Ever play tamiya rc cars? fiddle with the gear ratio & light weight construction & upgrade the motor?

This car is like that. It's a big toy designed from day 1. Guys on this forum aren't that much different from whom I used to play with after class. It isn't that very simple and pure? Let's just enjoy it.

I'll try to help. It's not at all necessary that you specifically mod your car to be part of car culture, but if you can't understand why others do you're in the dark about how they're enjoying their cars. It seems like you're wandering into the unpleasant territory of discounting their enjoyment as foolish.

Saying that any performance car $25-100K shouldn't have to be modified is like saying people shouldn't enjoy seasoned food- it doesn't need salt to be consumed, but it's better with it. But no one has to like salt and some people over salt things, that's just human nature.

That there is room and even sense to modding is supported by the fact most manufacturers themselves sell go-fast/handle-better parts. Lots of people accept that they're jeopardizing their warranties while lots of people wouldn't dream of risking that protection. I have no interest in hanging a turbo on my car or stancing it out with 20s, but I've installed a header-back exhaust and a tune and I'm just back from a track weekend- brake fluid, wheels and tires were also not OEM. My choices don't make the other guys wrong, they just have a different idea of what they like and what the car needs to suit them.

So really, if someone mods their car in a way you wouldn't and gets pleasure out of what they've done, that's just when you enjoy the fact we're not all the same. The differences in how people follow their passions are good because the joy is the same for everyone.

If you are fine with the car as is you are a "delusional fanboi" (an actual statement made recently)
If you want to do minor mods you are a pretender and don't do things "right"
If you go for big mods you are a ricer brah

There seems to be no winning. No matter what you do there will always be that one or two guys that are going to say it is wrong. This is not new to "car culture" and has been going on throughout the history of the automobile. It is just easier for people with conflicting ideals to be in one place now. I don't think it will go away.

Just keep in mind that an ETA is just that: an estimate. At ten days out, it's probably pretty accurate, but can change by quite a bit based on lots of different factors.

That having been said, our new WRX showed up 4 days early, so some times it works out in your favor! But, also keep in mind that it doesn't just roll off the truck and into your driveway. The dealers usually take a day or two to get it ready and into their system and ready to sell.

Yeah.. When I ordered my car last year their ETA for me was like March 26th and it actually arrived late in the day March 10th. I was able to pick it up the following day.

So don't stick to the ETA too much.

So it's not just the sideskirts, but the entire kit that needs to be added at the dealer?
