I just Hate that they are trying to take over the world with shitty little eco boxes...

I was thinking about World of Warcraft the other night when I was playing and how disappointed I was with how they are homogenizing all the classes of the game, taking the unique out of the class and making them all feel the same and boring... Toyota did the same over the last few decades IMO...

Look at the generation of sports cars, all the cars were significantly different with their own advantages and disadvantages. No car could really be superior because there was another car that could beat it. Example time ;

Car A can beat Car B in a race.
Car B can beat Car C in a race.
Car C can beat Car A in a race.

They all felt so different, but so exciting. When Toyota decided to go for #1 in the world for car sales what happened? They dropped all the radically different and exciting cars, homogenized their lineup so everything feels the same and lookie what happened. They took #1 car sales. But no one likes Toyota as a performance brand anymore because of it.

I dunno, I miss exciting games and cars that had their unique quirks and advantages and disadvantages.

Very true, everything must be done in balance. But lets face it...Toyota now has the luxury of being able to throw out performance cars and maintain #1 status easily. Hell they can make better engines for all their cars if not atleast more interesting designs. People are hooked on the brand

First off, the operator "can beat" is not a logical one, it merely demonstrates potential. Second you missed this line:

Essentially, each car could be tuned, driven, or put on a different track, where in each case would be a different winner, not always the same car... Driver also matters. If one car was significantly better then anyone should win in that car regardless of driver... Logically anyway :P

I think he means like car A is good on tracks with lots of sweepers and long straights, whereas car B is better at handling tighter corners with short straights, and car C is somewhere in between? Momentum car, vs 'point and shoot' car, vs ? (Can't think what in between those would be called.)

Sort of. But if driver was not part of the equation and that was the formula you could see where each car was at an advantage over the other.

All the cars are built the same these days and theres no flavour and its bland. You drive one and you've driven them all kind of thing. Its boring.

I honestly don't like how cars are being built "equal". At least in the sports car and performance aspects. Grocery getters can have that same feel to em, but for the more exciting cars and performance cars it shouldn't be "what one do I like the looks of most".

I'm just displeased with the similarities of all the performance / sports cars these days. Watching Top Gear is only entertaining because of Jeremy, Richard and James. Take them away and Top Gear would be boring as shit because they'd always say "This car is fabulous. So is this car. This one is faster on the track but it feels IDENTICAL to the other car, so what ever floats your boat."

I just came back from Vegas where I drove a Gallardo LP560 then a 430 Scuderia and both cars felt veryyyy different. Each had their own character and feel to them.

The Lambo was quick and grippy but man the Scuderia felt like a race car it was ridiculous

I also find Top Gear isnt as good as it use to be because it feels soo scripted and about the host now then it does a car programs. Love live the days of Tiff on Top Gear he was deff the most informative
