Kids in car seats still and just wouldn't work in an FR-S especially in winter. |

yeah, 5km drives from cold starts are pretty bad, your engine is only warmed up half way there and if there is stop and go traffic you're screwed.

Ugh, my commute is 8.6kms and about 1/3 of that is stop and go (couple bottlenecked spots)...hopefully it won't be too bad during the break-in...

Ahh that must be why.. I also only filled up with 91 and maybe was thinking that could be the difference, so filling only 94 and seeing if anything changes |

Yes I am getting the "chirping" I didn't really piece together what it was but I've been freaking out because the exhaust sound is all wrong.
And as for improving fuel economy: even smooth application of gas a break, carry momentum like its a bag full of irreplaceable invaluable jewels and be smooth. There is never a need to hit a "hole shot" at a light or to take on the asshole in the WRX (yeah that was the one that tried to get me to go). I want my breakin done right so I play by the rules. I've got 20kms left until the break in is over and then I am headed down to Invermere BC; backroads the whole way and I am just gonna waste gas. But when I am in the city just carry the momentum you build and the smoother you are the better your economy is going to be.

Why the fuss over 1-2L/100km fuel economy? To save $1-2 hundred quid a year? I'm averaging roughly 10L/100km, but I drive aggressively. If I cared about the couple hundred dollars extra in gas per year would've bought a prius!

Fair enough, lol. Probably different driving styles, conditions etc. Doubt it has anything to o with your particular car.

you can't buy it in stores, and you can only use for the Ultra94 gas.
