Edit, thought I'd try to be fancy by actually linking to the above image. It didn't work. I'm dumb...

I don't know why but both Rodger and his First Sergeant look like they were made in a factory someplace to meet a military spec contract for appearance and uniformity.

One each to be issued at the company level as per WD CAT. ORD 3:

Captain, Young, Caucasian, all American, Clean cut MK III-b Rev 68
First Sargent, Middle aged, Mixed race, slightly grizzled, MK IV-a Rev 68

My boss is a her, and she is not qualified. We are way over staffed, and way too top heavy. I work in the finance department for a large government ran hospital. I plan to retire 11/2019 with 30 years of service, so I can see my pension at the end of the tunnel. I just shut my mouth and stare out my office window.

Ahhh it all makes sense then. Meaford can hardly be called a "base" at the best of times so yes people could indeed get away with not doing much.
I was at Meaford as a cadet when it reopened in 73 or 74. It was interesting because it had been shut down for several years and was in pretty bad shape. I hauled a shitload of ammo from Pet to Meaford in 80 and 81 and although it had improved it was still a shithole so I never stayed over there. Although it has no doubt improved even more I still can't even picture staying there for a few months.

Yep, I told him that is a horrible idea. He has about a year and a bit of shittiness ahead of him, and then it will get exponentially better once that time period is over with.

What actually happened was he drove the truck to a bar, or a party or something, I don't know the exact details of where he was. Anyways, he slept in the truck, cops found him passed out in the driver seat, woke him up, breathalyzed him and charged him. Not even like he was actually operating the vehicle, but care and control laws and such.

I'm urging him to get to an AA meeting, since he legitimately has a problem with alcohol, and to a lesser extent, narcotics. He polishes off five or six 26'ers per week.

The biggest issue though for him is that he told me he hasn't left his apartment for two weeks, so he has no body around for him. I hate to see him beating himself up for what ultimately comes up to a lapse in judgement that cost him SO god damned much. It's crazy to think that he actually did the responsible (well, responsible compared to other outcomes) and he ends up in this situation.

Has he hired a lawyer?

It's more expensive on the front end, but cheaper/worth it long term, especially in odd situations like this.

In some places, it's about where the keys are (Within reach, IIRC in MS, where I used to live). A decent lawyer could do some work with that...

Cept for the First Sergeant's hat and bandana, which I made him take off before we got back to our company area ......

So we built a new clinical building here at work. They wanted to put high tech electric hand dryers in the bathrooms. Now these are not the old fashioned box type you put your hands under, these are japanese modern ones you put your hands in. so there were two different brands and the powers that be wanted to see which brand people like better. In our building, they put one brand in the women's bathroom, and the other brand in the men's, and put out a clipboard for people to comment on which one they liked better.

I can't make this shit up.
