Someones gotta keep this shit positive, before this turns into an argument about the ethics of 4k "cruising", the effect cow farts have on global warming and why they produce more pollution than cars.

I like the sound of my FRS engine and I don’t know why so many people love the S2k. I owned an AP2 for 5 years and hardly ever miss it.

Well since the normal idle is 600 RPM and the high idle is about 1,200 RPM by your engine will only last half as long if you warm it up.

Good job you’re catching on. Honda who is known for high RPMs wastes so much time combating the mythical cylinder wear. They use oil jets, carbon reenforced sleeves and molybdenum coating on the skirts. But they’re still notorious for blowby. My old Integra drank one qt per day after about 200k miles. Obviously it had nothing to do with high RPMs. I mean there is no wear involved with metal rings sliding along another metal surface. Doubling the number of passes will literally not add any additional wear. The FA20 has none of the precautions Honda takes so we are in better hands. Go ahead, sling your hearts out. |
