?? I just said I’ve known people who don’t mind traffic and those who do who have owned manuals for years. If manuals are so superior, why has demand gone drastically down? You said that you disagree that many people who can drive a manual aren't good enough at it to really know if they're missing out on something, but you only gave one example. Even after that one, there could still be many others who don't know what they're missing. I know several people who have the ability to drive manuals but have never put any significant time in one and certainly wouldn't be able to do what I do with mine in heavy traffic.

Very true. I’m sure you are right about many not being able to do what you do in heavy traffic, just saying I know folks who’ve driven manual for years and prefer AT in city traffic conditions and some not. I just think it’s petty that many MT guys try to talk shit about AT guys like they are weak, funny really. I have some weak friends who won’t bust knuckles on a Jeep like me or get under heavy squat bar on Sunday morning.

ur weak bro, true strength can be witnessed while driving MT. If you can't grab and violently move a hard stick, then you can't lift on a bench, nuff said bro.

Demand for manuals has gone down because the general population wants to be as disconnected from the driving experience as possible while they cruise along in their boring SUVs and family sedans. Most of your posts make it sound like you really don’t want to learn to drive a manual, so you want to justify your true desire to buy an auto instead. A manual or auto twin will both get way better gas mileage than your gas-hog Jeep, the auto will get a few mpg better in some situations... If you really want the auto and have no interest in driving a manual because of traffic, that’s fine... just get the auto. Nobody is going to convince anybody one way or another. Either you enjoy the extra connection to the car and involvement in the driving experience that a manual transmission offers, or you prefer the more laid back experience that an auto offers... neither is wrong, it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Ok, really? Are you 17? Bro? Because one can drive stick doesn’t mean they want to constantly clutch in traffic, but whatever makes you feel better bro. Being as you are in Canada, I guess we’ll never get to go lift together to find out who’s better on bench, something tells me I’m doing just fine, especially for my age. I didn’t mention bench, I mentioned getting under squat bar, something I’m sure you avoid and stick to bench.

I already have learned to drive a manual, it’s not rocket science. Just lean towards not wanting to daily, big deal. I already stated in early original post since you said you read them that this next car will be second vehicle to my Jeep that sucks gas. I love my Jeep regardless of gas, I can go anywhere I want and my convertible is better than any Miata, my doors come off whenever I want. With that said, I want a second dd that’s fun to drive and good on gas and already said I plan on testing MT and AT both.

That’s one test, ask Brian Goodwin from Goodwin racing being as he owns both. Abarth wins. Regardless, it’s close and Abarth looks better than ND, just my opinion. Wife said Miata looked cute and Abarth looked sexy. I’ll take sexy over cute as a man.
