Thanks, right about where I thought the swaybar would need to go. Either I'm good at guessing, or punched numbers into a spreadsheet and interpreted it reasonably well...
I imagine the overall ride could improve in some use cases with the greater spring rate spread - there's a section of highway I encounter every time I head up to Milwaukee where the car starts to feel incredibly unsettled... it bobbles really oddly front/rear. I'll have to add a few more parts to the bin later this year and try it out I think. First I have to get the parts I already have on the car... and wait for a few items to even show up.

A BRZ with 5 kg/mm front springs + Perrin 22mm front swaybar on soft would have more front roll resistance than a BRZ with 7 kg/mm springs and an OEM 18mm front bar. I think an 8 kg/mm front spring + OEM 18mm bar brings them fairly close.
Either can work well with the right set-up... From memory, a 16mm rear bar gets you something like a 1.0 or 0.5 kg/mm increase in rear roll stiffness vs OEM 14mm bar. - Andrew Last edited by Racecomp Engineering; 02-05-2018 at 05:22 PM. |

Just enough rear bar to get around the slow corners. I hated no rear bar when i tried it.

I need to get some new 200TW tires for the upcoming season. Are the 71R's still the top tire for STX? Also, what's the consensus here between the 245/40/17 and 255/40/17? I ran the 245's last season and sometimes had issues hitting the rev limiter in 2nd gear. Was thinking the 255's might give me some extra top end so I won't have to upshift in some of those fast finishes. Just not sure if it'll feel bogged down trying to dig out of corners or not.

Lots of people seem to like the BFGRS 1.5, I'd give them a shot as my next tire if there isn't some new flavor of the month. Nexen is the oddball choice that some people seem to get good results out of, but it seems hit and miss. Reports are the Falken's aren't as quick as BFG/Stone.

Accelerating out of low speed turns will probably be noticeable with 255s. If you had a 2017, 255s would be worth trying. Also, are you tuned? Quote:

I've run both 245 & 255 on my 2017 BRZ. As well as both tires, Rival S 1.5 and the RE71R. I much prefer the 255 size. Couple more MPH in 2nd and with 7850 limiter it was good to go. In contrast, I ran the 245 the entire time on my FRS.
The tire make is pure preference on how you like the feel, both equally as fast IMO. I ran the Rival S 1.5 for most of last year, but may drive the RE71R again this year. Mostly because of its ability to work sooner/better in cooler weather. The slower heat up (of BFG'S) caused me some issues at a couple National events last year.

I've got a 2013 FRS and am currently using the OFT UEL Stage 2 tune. I didn't realize it could be edited to hold the RPM's at the rev limiter. Right now it cuts off power if I don't upshift soon enough after hitting redline.
